I had the chance to work on the Clash of Clans Lunar New Year campaign for the most popular mobile game of all time.
It was their biggest campaign ever for Chinese market.

We develop the campaign around the theme of "On the Road" as during this period more than 400 million Chinese go back to their hometown and travel an average of 500km.
The perfect occasion to play a game Clash of Clans! The film follows one of the most iconic character of the game the Hog Rider and is filled with Clash of Clans easter eggs and CNY refererences.

Taking over all major Chinese airports and train stations.

The campaign included billboards in airports and train stations which are especially crowded during this period.

A Chinese New Year in music

As part of the brand content strategy, we also produced a music video by -17°C in Dongbei with local rock band "Escape Plan".

Extensions

For the Hong-Kong and Taiwan markets we wrote a second animated movie for Clash Royale with a side-story focusing on a missing hog.
